본 연구의 목적은 운동참여자의 개인적 특성과 신체적 자기개념이 운동결과기대 및 운동지속의도에 미치는 영향을 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위해 현재 운동참여자들을 대상으로 294부의 설문지를 연구자료로 사용하였다. 조사 도구는 신체적 자기개념, 운동결과기대 그리고 운동지속의도의 문항을 묻는 설문지로 구성되었다. 수집된 자료는 독립표본 T검정(t-test), 일원분산분석(one-way ANOVA), 상관관계분석(correlation analysis), 회귀분석을 수행 하였다. 첫째, 개인적 특성인 신체적 자기개념에서 남학생이 여학생보다 외모, 활동, 유능감에서 높았고 운동빈도에 따른 운동지속의도에서는 주 3회 이상이, 주 1-2회, 전혀 안 한다 보다 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 개인적 특성인 운동빈도에 따른 운동지속의도에서는 주 3회 이상이, 주 1-2회, 전혀 안 한다 보다 높았고 운동경력에 따른 운동지속의도 간에는 1~3년 및 3년 이상이 1년 미만보다 운동지속의도가 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 신체적 자기개념요인 중 유연성, 유능감이 운동결과기대에 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 신체적 자기개념요인 중 활동, 유능감이 운동지속의도에 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 신체적 자기개념의 변화 없이 운동결과기대 및 운동지속의도 또는 기타 요인들의 변화를 기대할 수 없는 것으로 판단된다.
The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of personal characteristics and physical self-concept of exercise participants on expectations of exercise outcomes and intention to continue exercising. To achieve this, 294 questionnaires were used as research data, collected from current exercise participants. The investigation tool was composed of questionnaire asking about physical self-concept, expectation of exercise outcome and the exercise adherence intension. Following conclusions were obtained from the collected data by performing Independentn Sample T-test, One-way ANOVA, Correlation Analysis and Regression Analysis. First, in the physical self-concept, which is the personal characteristic, the male student showed higher physical self-concept for the appearance, activity and competence, and in the expectation of exercise outcome according to the exercise frequency, students who exercise weekly three times or more showed higher self-concept than the students who exercise weekly once or twice and do not exercise. Second, in the exercise adherence intention according to the exercise frequency, which is the personal characteristic, the students who exercise weekly three times or more showed higher exercise adherence intention than the students who exercise weekly once or twice and do not exercise, and in the exercise adherence intention according to the exercise career, which is personal characteristic, weekly three times or more showed higher self-concept than weekly once or twice and no workout, and in the exercise adherence intention according to exercise career, students who have exercised 1-3 years and more than 3 years showed the higher exercise adherence intention compared to the students who have exercised less than 1 year. Third, it showed that the flexibility and the competence out of the factors of physical self-concept, have positive (+) impact on the exercise adherence intention. Finally, it showed that the activity and the competence out of the factors of physical self-concept have positive (+) impact on the exercise adherence intention. These results show that it is deemed that the change in the expectation of exercise outcome, exercise adherence intension ot other factors cannot be expected without changing the physical self-concept.
