Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between attractive attributes of sport tourist attractions as perceived by sports tourists, their satisfaction with participation, and behavioral intentions.
Method: The study targeted sports tourists who visited but did not reside in the city. Conducted from June 1 to September 30, 2023, the survey employed the convenience sampling method from among non-probability sampling techniques. Respondents were selected after being thoroughly informed about the study’s purpose and background. Self-administered questionnaires were used, with 220 distributed. Of these, 202 responses (91.8%) were deemed reliable for final analysis, excluding 18 due to unfaithful responses. Data analysis included frequency analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, and correlation analysis, utilizing SPSS 26.0, and structural equation modeling analysis using AMOS 26.0.
Results: The analysis results derived from this are as follows. First, among Jeonju’s attractive attributes, hospitality and convenience positively influenced participation satisfaction, whereas enjoyment and resourcefulness did not. Second, participation satisfaction was found to positively affect the intention to revisit. Third, participation satisfaction also positively influenced the intention to recommend.
Conclusion: This study highlights the importance of identifying and enhancing the attractive attributes of sports tourist attractions. Doing so can increase sports tourists’ participation satisfaction, which is pivotal in securing their intentions to revisit and recommend, ultimately contributing to the success of sports tourism.
