This study investigates the impact of user experience on self-efficacy and the intention to share avatar contents in the metaverse based on the use-diffusion model. It explored how period and diversity of usage as metaverse usage behavior influence self-efficacy, and how self-efficacy increases the intention to share avatar contents in the metaverse. An online survey was conducted, and samples were collected from active metaverse users aged 18 or older who had used Zepeto for at least six months. A total of 196 valid responses were analyzed, with respondents who had experienced shopping in the virtual fashion stores of Zepeto. The results showed that the period and diversity of metaverse use increased self-efficacy, and self-efficacy mediated the relationship between the user"s experience and intention to share avatar content. Specifically, the diversity of metaverse use had a higher impact on self-efficacy than the period of metaverse use. The findings imply that when metaverse users engage in various activities over an extended period, they perceive a high level of self-efficacy in using metaverse. This perception leads to proactive behaviors, such as sharing content in the metaverse.
