This study aims to verify the mediating effect of exercise commitment in the relationship between positive psychological capital and exercise adherence among recreational sports participants. The researcher surveyed to collect data from 296 individuals actively engaged in physical activity in the Seoul metropolitan area. This survey used the Positive Psychological Capital Scale, Exercise Commitment Scale, and Exercise Adherence Scale in data analysis. The study"s findings are as follows: First, the effect of positive psychological capital on exercise adherence among recreational sports participants was analyzed, and the results showed that positive psychological capital optimistically affects exercise adherence. Second, how positive psychological capital affects the exercise commitment of recreational sports participants was analyzed, and it revealed that positive psychological capital positively affects exercise commitment. Third, how exercise commitment affects exercise adherence was examined, and the results showed that exercise commitment positively affects exercise adherence. Fourth, the analysis of the mediating effect of exercise commitment on the relationship between positive psychological capital and exercise adherence in recreational sports participants revealed that exercise commitment partially mediates the relationship between positive psychological capital and exercise adherence. In conclusion, this study found a significant relationship between positive psychological capital, exercise commitment, and exercise adherence among recreational sports participants.
