Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the resocialization process of juvenile delinquents through sports activities.
Method: Grounded theory was used for data collection and analysis. The participants of this study were male youths who had received protective measures, and were living in a group home, and had not committed a re-delinquency in the past year.
Results: Regular and intermittent sports activities demonstrated a positive effect as an intervening condition for juvenile delinquents residing in group homes. Participants were able to reduce their stress levels, build physical strengths, and gain self-acceptance overall. However, some complaints from participants on the outskirts remained unchanged.
Conclusion: This study concludes that juvenile delinquents living in group homes experienced improvements in health, self-determination, social skills, lifestyle stability, and overall well-being through participation in sports activities.
