Traditional markets, located in the center of the city, were responsible for the commercial activities of the village in the past and were used as local community facilities. As consumers’ needs and pursuits changed due to the influence of the rapidly changing environment, they were unable to respond to these changes and remained as they were in the past. It is in a situation where it is being ignored by consumers. This study analyzes market values and problems, focusing on Namdaemun Market, and then examines future plans for revitalizing the architectural market based on comparative analysis of successful cases of revitalizing traditional markets at home and abroad.
