본 연구 목적은 지금까지 다루어지지 않았던 한국 여성 경찰 정복을 시대적 배경에 근거하여 여성경찰 정복 변천 과정을 연구 분석한 자료를 제시하여 총체적으로 다양하게 분석할 수 있는 계기를 마련하고자 한다. 연구 방법과 범위는 이론적 배경으로는 경찰학개론, 복식이론, 여성경찰 정복에 관한 문헌, 학술 논문을 바탕으로 여성 경찰 개념과 역할 및 여성 경찰 정복 변천사를 분석하였다. 실질적 자료는 인터넷, 경찰 홍보 화보, 여경 재향 회를 방문하여 인터뷰와 사진자료를 수집하였다. 연구 결과는 이론적 고찰에 따라 시대적 흐름과 역사적 사건에 따라 정복이 형성되었지만, 디자인적 관점 즉, 실루엣과 색상, 소재와 세부는 큰 변화가 없었다. 이에 본 연구자는 향후 개선될 디자인을 색상, 소재, 실루엣의 구성요소로 구분하여 제시하였다. 색상은 남성 경찰복과 동일하되 단추, 커프스, 칼라, 장식 포켓에서 국가적인 이미지를 부각시킬 수 있는 태극기의 색상인 흰색, 빨강색, 파란색, 검정색 중에서 선택하여 남성 경찰복과의 차별성을 둔다. 소재는 점차 아열대성 기후로 변화하고 있는 한국의 기후 변화를 고려하여 착용자에게 피로감과 불쾌감을 최소화 할 수 있는 가볍고 통풍이 잘되며 내구성에 적합한 소재를 개발한다. 실루엣은 다양한 연령에 따른 신체적 조건을 감안하고 정복의 품위를 고취시킬 수 있는 H 라인 실루엣 허리부분 즉, 옆선 또는 뒤 허리 중심에 벨트로 장식을 준다.

This study aims to suggest the data of analyzing the research on the process of female police uniform change based on the periodic flow which has hardly been dealt with before so as to lay the foundation to analyze the uniform in general and diverse ways. Furthermore, this study will be the cornerstone to develop uniform design afterwards. As a study method, for theoretical backgrounds, concepts of police, its role and history of changes in women``s full-dress uniform are analyzed, based on literature and studies related to introduction to police science, fashion theory and full-dress uniform of women police. For practical material, the Internet and pictorials for police promotion are used, interview was carried out at women police country clubs and pictures are collected. Results of the study are although full- dress uniform was based on current of the times and historical incidents through theoretical consideration, ecological point of view including silhouette and color, material and detail had `` no change``. In this, this researcher divided a design that would be improved in the future into the elements of colors, materials, and silhouettes and presented them. The colors are identical to those of male police uniforms but white, red, blue, and black, which are the colors of the Korean flag, are added to the buttons, cuffs, collars, and decorated pockets to highlight the national image of Korea and tokeep it distinguished from male police uniforms. Material is developed that is lightweight, well ventilated, and durable which minimizes feelings of fatigue and displeasure while taking Korea’s climate, which is gradually changing into a subtropical climate, into consideration. The silhouette is an H-line silhouette which can inspire the dignity of the uniform, taking into consideration the physical conditions of various age groups and the waist area, or in other words, the sides or center waist in the back is decorated with a belt.
