The development of science and technology due to digital technology has influenced the overall culture and arts and has led to a focus on new media art utilizing new media. This study aims to study what video installation dance is, which makes dance into a video like a movie in this era so that it can be viewed anywhere like installation art. This is a qualitative study that infers the flow and advantages of video installation dance after analyzing digital videos installed in the Seoul area that are currently being used with digital technology. The results are as follows: First, video installation dance satisfies the five senses, which are human instincts, through digital video and can express emotional sympathy of joy in a wide variety of ways. Second, video installation dance can be a cultural phenomenon that the majority of ordinary citizens can view informally and a place for positive communication. Third, video installation dance can expand expression methods and establish the concept of artistic value as a new art form in the overall arts. Fourth, the content of a work of art can be effectively conveyed by installing a video with high visual impact to convey the message of the work. Fifth, it can provide a unique artistic experience to ordinary citizens who appreciate the work. The emergence of an art form that expresses a new world by combining the genres of video, dance, and installation art with the help of the latest scientific technology can be seen as a further development of dance performance. From the perspective of creative knowledge creation in 21st century art, research on today's art technology is expected to create new and diverse types of art.
