An isolated multi-port converter (IMPC) with hybrid power flow control is proposed in this paper. Three input/output ports are included in the IMPC. The first input of the IMPC can be connected to PV array or other dc sources. The second input will be connected to the battery, whereas the second input can be acted as the load according to different operating scenarios. The output will be connected to the load. Besides, the hybrid power flow control will be developed and realized by the digital signal processor (DSP). With this proposed circuit and control strategy, the energy between the PV array, the battery and the load can effectively be regulated. If the demanded load power is greater than the supplied power from the PV array, the inadequate power can be provided by the battery. On the contrary, if the demanded load power is lower than the PV power, the battery will be charged. Hardware experiments are presented to verify the feasibility of the proposed IMPC. Finally, a 150W prototype circuit is designed and implemented. The voltage/current of the first and the second input ports are set as 60V/2.5A and 100V/1.5A, respectively. The output voltage and current are set as 100V/1.5A.
