School sport policy in Korea has been formed in-between where the sport policy and education policy meets. The purpose of this study, with a brief understanding of school sport governance and bench marking the cases of governance of national school sport policies, was to suggest the school sports governance establishment plans for developing school sport. The systems and criteria of governance in school sport policy have been studied in three areas: 1) inter-ministerial governance; 2) national and local governance; 3) public and private sectors governance. Two typical cases of governance in school sport policy are analyzed: 1) creating the "School Sport Law" as a case for inter-ministerial governance; 2) "institutional improvement of National Sports Festival" as a case for public and private sector governance. The construction plans for effective school sports governance from this study can be summarized as : 1) setting explict policy purposes and disemination of chemistry; 2) Securing consistent leadership; 3) providing material and institutional resourcces for keeping up the governance
