The rapid development of information and communication technology (ICT) and the expansion of digital spaces have highlighted the importance of digital citizenship education. This study aims to analyze research trends related to digital citizenship education using text mining techniques, including frequency analysis, semantic network analysis, and topic modeling. The analysis focused on the abstracts, keywords, and titles of academic papers published between 2002 and the first half of 2024. The findings indicate that media literacy, social participation, information utilization, and AI are essential components of digital citizenship education. Education and citizenship emerged as central concepts, while media literacy and technological competencies such as AI were identified as critical for navigating the digital environment. Topic modeling revealed key themes, including the development of educational curricula, the impact of internet participation programs, and the need for future-oriented educational approaches. This study underscores the importance of fostering responsible digital citizens through a comprehensive educational approach that integrates ethical responsibility, critical media consumption, and interaction with emerging technologies. The insights from this research provide valuable guidance for developing effective curricula and policies to promote digital citizenship in educational settings.
