In this study, a defect-related perception survey was conducted for ordinary citizens before moving into apartment houses. In order to derive the overall requirements for defect management, which is the purpose of this study, 500 residents of new apartments who experienced pre-inspection were surveyed online. As a result of the survey, it was found that prospective tenants, who are non-experts in construction and construction, felt a burden about defect inspection. In addition, it was recognized that even for the difficultly pointed out defects, the contractor could not handle them quickly and transparently. In addition, the system for recording and receiving defects is still mainstream in the traditional method, so there seemed to be a limit to improving speed and transparency. Therefore, it seemed necessary to change the application of smart technology to the construction industry defect management in the future.
