This study aims to analyze the role of void spaces in facilitating interaction and creative activities within educational environments, specifically focusing on the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc). By applying Space Syntax methodologies—Convex Connectivity Analysis and Visibility Graph Analysis (VGA)—this research quantitatively assesses how voids and mezzanine structures contribute to spatial integration and interaction among students. The findings reveal that void spaces significantly enhance both physical connectivity and visual integration, serving as central nodes for spontaneous interaction and collaboration. Additionally, the mezzanine structure reinforces vertical connections, promoting multi-level interactions within the learning environment. This study provides practical insights for the design of creative learning spaces, emphasizing the importance of non-hierarchical and flexible spatial configurations in contemporary architectural education.
