This film explores the hypnotic power of human relationships with nature, self, and others, beginning with the interplay of time and place. It reflects Jung’s concept of the collective unconscious through childhood memories, forgotten emotions, and shared personalities across diverse cultures and beliefs. By presenting recurring, unsolvable events from a new perspective, the film provides viewers with the ability to enlighten, realize, and transform their thoughts. The study addresses key questions: How would human consciousness manifest in a universe beyond all possibilities? Can we objectively observe the collective subconscious? How do people navigate between emotions and beliefs?
Through films like DogTooth, we gain an external view of human nature, recognizing humans as utopian creations with the power to manage thoughts. Films, akin to therapy, offer profound insights and a deeper understanding of human experiences. This thesis will explore film and memory through Jung’s approach, independent of time, space, culture, and language.
