This study aimed to analyze the effects of a 12-week personalized weight training program on body composition, balance ability, and functional movement in adult men and women. The participants consisted of 16 adults (8 men and 8 women) aged 20 to 34, selected from the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s Youth Physical Health Promotion Service, G-do project. The participants underwent one-on-one personal training twice a week for 12 weeks. Body composition was measured using bioelectrical impedance analysis(BIA), and balance ability and functional movement(FMS) were evaluated pre and post intervention.
The results showed a significant decrease in body fat percentage and BMI in the female group( p<.05), while the male group showed positive changes in body composition, though these were not statistically significant( p>.05). Both men and women showed slight improvements in balance ability, but no significant differences were observed( p>.05). However, functional movement scores significantly improved in both groups( p<.001), indicating that the training contributed to enhancing functional movement and preventing injury.
In conclusion, the 12-week personalized weight training program effectively improved body composition and functional movement in adult men and women. This program can serve as foundational data for improving physical fitness and promoting health.
