The paradigm of the automobile industry is changing as it expands beyond simple seating to essential living space and a moving business space. Accordingly, comfort in the interior space of a vehicle has become an important factor in selecting a vehicle. Especially, ventilation seats are being applied to small cars and second-row seats as consumer needs increase. We also conducted a lot of research on ventilation seat to improve performance and have cost competitiveness through the development and optimization of new structures. Our optimized structure is a single blower structure, and the blower located at the bottom of the cushion sucks in air, and it is a system that splits in both directions of the cushion and the back to deliver the wind. The one blower ventilation system has the advantage that when the ventilation seat is operated, the blower sucks in cool air from the lower part of the cushion and delivers it to the customer’s back and legs as it is. However, the one blower ventilation system developed so far cannot be applied to the folding seat. In this study, we introduce a new duct and cushion mechanism concept that can apply a one blower ventilation system to a folding seat. The process (optimization design, flow analysis, sample verification, etc.) and effects from solving the variable length between the cushion duct and the back duct to developing a structure that can configure a cushion blower without interference with the floor(or carpet/air conditioning duct) are explained.
