In addition to administrative facilities, Public Complex Buildings, which have emerged as a new paradigm for publicbuildings in modern society, form a complex space with various functions to establish a intimacy relationship with urbanresidents. However, even today, Public Complex Buildings only emphasize the significance of the economic aspect, andresearch on relational approaches to urban residents as space subjects is insufficient. Therefore, this study attempted toanalyze the spatial scope by substituting Public Intimacy that seeks to establish an intimate and lasting relationship betweenspace and users based on publicity. Starting with the conceptual approach of Public Complex Buildings, the complex type wasconsidered, the structure and spatial characteristics of Public Intimacy were extracted, and the spatial direction and compositionplan were analyzed through case analysis. The results of the study showed that cultural facilities were complexed with thehighest proportion of the complex types (commercial facilities, cultural facilities, business facilities, residential facilities, and lodgingfacilities), and other types of complexity were insufficient, so more active complex development should be made. Furthermore,the Public Complex Buildings was approached in consideration of the physical Intimacy (openness, recognition, accessibility) andemotional Intimacy (amenity, experientiality, and placeness) to form a Public Intimacy. It is necessary to reduce the mixing ofPublic Complex Buildings and Public Intimacy words through continuous research in the future, and to prepare concrete plansthrough a more detailed spatial scope and regional approach.
