The aim of this study is to develop building usage profiles (including occupancy rates, number of occupants, appliance usage rates, and schedules) based on measurements of indoor environmental variables. Understanding occupants' energy usage patterns is crucial for existing buildings. Therefore, it is essential to analyze user profiles across different building types.
In this study, we analyzed the possibility of estimating space usage patterns based on indoor occupancy. By utilizing variations in indoor CO₂ concentration resulting from occupancy, we predicted weekly operation days, daily operating hours, and the number of occupants for specific spaces. We validated our methodology by comparing it with actual data. Based on the calculated building usage patterns, we propose methods to customize building usage profiles for monthly based buildign energy performance calculation.
