Meaning differences occur depending on whether or not a preposition is used in a given sentence. For example, ‘She rode a horse’ and ‘She rode on a horse’ differ in meaning: the first sentence suggests that she actually controlled the horse and rode it, while the second sentence indicates that she simply got on the horse. The choice of English prepositions- at, in, or on-can significantly change the meaning of a sentence in different contexts and situations, resulting in differences in interpretation. While the prepositions at and in may sometimes be used interchangeably, their use can affect the scope of space. For instance, the sentences ‘He is at the office.’ and ‘He is in the office.’ differ in terms of space. The difference in the duration of time is found in the sentences, ‘He came here on time.’ and ‘He came here in time.’ Also, depending on the speaker's different viewpoints and perspectives, prepositions such as at, in, or on may be used subjectively, resulting in differences in meaning.
