This study focuses on the improvement of transformer oil using an integrated oil purification system for the effective management and maintenance of lubricants used in transformers. Transformers are essential components in various power generation facilities, including wind power plants, to ensure stable electricity supply. They perform critical functions such as voltage conversion, grid connection, and protection against lightning surges. Within these transformers, the transformer oil serves multiple purposes, including insulation, cooling, and oxidation prevention. Transformer oil can become contaminated primarily by moisture, heat, oxidation, and by-products of arcing. Additionally, it may be polluted by corrosive wear particles, dust, and foreign materials. Contaminated oil typically turns dark brown or black in color, exhibits reduced dielectric breakdown voltage and may generate gases such as hydrogen and acetylene. Other signs of deterioration include an increase in acid value and a decrease in volume resistivity. To address these issues, an integrated oil purification system was applied to the contaminated transformer oil. This system comprises a dual high-vacuum chamber device, a high-voltage electro-adsorption filter, oil flushing with microbubble generator, cartridge filters, a heater, and a monitoring unit. The application of this system to contaminated oil resulted in significant improvements. Therefore, regular oil purification using an integrated oil purification system is necessary for the effective maintenance and management of transformer oil.
