This article analyzes the emergence and expansion of ‘Bei+X’ construction using Elizabeth Closs Traugott’s construction grammar. It applies usage-based model, analogy, and neoanlaysis to explain its evolution. Also, it argues the linguistic change is a dynamic process driven by language user’s cognitive and interactive engagement, rather than just frequency accumulation. The ‘Bei+X’ construction has significantly broadened its syntactic, semantic, and pragmatic functions through continuous neoanalysis. This expansion highlights language user’s adaptability in expressing new concepts and solidifies the construction’s importance in contemporary Chinese grammar.
