This study investigated three areas along the Pingxi Line in New Taipei City, Taiwan—Houtong, Shifen, and Jingtong. It explores the history of coal mine development in each region, the heritagization process following mine closures, the current status of major heritage sites, and efforts for regional revitalization. It further conducts a comparative analysis of the three regions in terms of both heritage preservation and community revitalization. The findings reveal that the coal mining heritage along the Pingxi Line is generally well preserved and successfully integrated with tourism. Future research will expand the scope through comparative studies with other coal mining heritage sites.
