This study systematically examines the impact of various components of social capital on the sustainabili ty of Urban Regeneration Base Facilities (URBFs) and derives policy implications for long-term urban rege neration strategies. Social capital, encompassing trust, networks, community participation, reciprocity, in formation sharing, and community spirit, plays a vital role in transforming URBFs from physical spaces into catalysts for community revitalization. Using survey data, multiple regression analysis, and mediation analysis via PROCESS Macro, this study empirically explores how social capital enhancement influences the autonomous operation and sustainability of URBFs. The results show that trust, community participati on, and community spirit significantly contribute to URBF sustainability, with community spirit emerging as the most influential factor in fostering belonging and solidarity. In contrast, networks, reciprocity, and information sharing have limited direct effects. However, mediation analysis reveals that trust indirectly strengthens sustainability by activating networks and reciprocity, highlighting trust as a key foundation for collaborative networks and reciprocal relationships. These findings suggest that strengthening trust and community spirit, alongside promoting active community participation, is crucial for ensuring the effective operation and sustainability of URBFs. By providing theoretical insights and practical policy rec ommendations, this study contributes to advancing urban regeneration policies and fostering sustainable, self-sufficient community environments.
