    Elderly individuals and patients with lower-back pain experience significant physical strain when putting on or removing shoes due to excessive trunk flexion and the need to maintain balance. To alleviate this burden and improve footwear-wearing convenience in confined residential environments, this study designed and fabricated a hanging folding chair attachable to a shoe-cabinet door. The proposed chair adopts an ergonomically determined seat height based on statistical data to minimize knee stress in older users, while its structure evenly distributes loads to the floor and suppresses the moment applied to the hinge. Structural analysis software was employed to quantitatively evaluate stress and displacement, thereby verifying the stability of the design. For enhanced usability, an automatic folding mechanism and anti-slip pads were incorporated, and the final prototype was produced via additive manufacturing and validated in a real-world setting. The developed product is expected to effectively reduce physical strain during shoe wearing or removal and to provide superior space utilization and user convenience in limited entryway spaces.
