Purpose This study aims to investigate the immediate effects of posturespecific YRaise exercises on craniovertebral angle, cranial rotation angle, and visual analog scale in patients with forward head posture. Methods Thirty university students with forward head posture participated in this study. They were randomly assigned into three groups: ten students who received YRaise exercises in a standing position, ten who received the exercises in a prone position, and ten who received them in a backward rocking position. The craniovertebral angle (CVA) and cranial rotation angle (CRA) were measured using ImageJ software, and neck pain levels were assessed using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS). These measurements were conducted on all subjects before and after the intervention. Results After the intervention, significant improvements were observed in the CVA and VAS in both the standing position group and the prone position group, while no significant changes were found in the backward rocking position group. There were no significant changes in the CRA in any of the three groups. Among the groups, only the CVA showed a significant difference, while no significant differences were found in the CRA or the VAS. Conclusion Performing the Yraise exercise in either the prone or standing position showed a short term reduction in pain and had a significant impact on improving forward head posture. Therefore, this study recommends the application of Yraise exercises in the prone or standing position for individuals with FHP.
