According to Korean defense specifications, ammunition lots are currently subjected to acceptance tests at designated sites on a per-lot basis to verify compliance with contract quality requirements. These tests are typically performed at government-owned facilities; however, noise emissions provoke ongoing complaints from nearby residents, thus causing delivery delays. Owing to the recent increase in the export of competitive K-defense products arising from their superior quality, reasonable prices, and rapid delivery, the volume of ammunition acceptance tests has increased accordingly. However, delays caused by local complaints are increasingly regarded as significant export risks. To mitigate these test-delay risks and enhance efficiency, this study investigates optimized sampling-inspection approaches for ammunition lot-acceptance tests. Two primary methodologies are used in this study. First, ammunition reliability is utilized as a key indicator to determine the sample sizes using a custom-developed reliability allocation model. This model enables the application of integrated system-level acceptance tests, thus allowing for the observation of changes in reliability. Second, skip-lot sampling inspection is investigated by comparing operating characteristic curves obtained from current Korean defense specifications and skip-lot standards, thus enabling a quantitative analysis of lot-acceptance probabilities.
