Effects of cognitive strategy instruction on affective change in problem solving with disabilitiesHyun Jin Kim(Korea Institute for Special Education)The purpose of the study was to examine the effect of problem solving strategy onthe mathematical word problem solving s affective change of students who partic-ipated in the program. For this purpose, specific research questions were set : Arethere any differences in affective change in problem solving according to strategymethod? In an attempt to test those research questions, 48 students comprisingfourth, fifth, sixth grade classes at elementary school participated in the experiment.These forty eight students were divided into 24 students for each group. The experi-mental group participated in cognitive strategy programs, while the control groupdid not. To prove the effects of the program, pretest-posttest control group design wasapplied. The differences between pre-test and post-test of two groups on affectivechange using multivariate analysis of variance(MANOVA). The results of the study
