This thesis has accounted for the aestheticworld of poems of the poet Oh Gyu Won via looking into his methodology of writing poetry. The outcome of the account is as follows: First, Oh Gyu Won is the poet with the sensitive self-consciousness of the methodology of writing poetry. He rigorously established his own theory of poetry. And he wrote poems as a work to practice his theory of poetry. His poem reveals the object transparently going beyond established conception. Secondly, the centre of the poems of Oh Gyu Won is the spirit of negation. The spirit of negation is the basis for his methodology of writing poetry. The spirit of negation aims at reaching the essence of the object through deconstruction of conception. Such an effort derives from the consciousness to disclose the phenomena of the world with transparent image. Thirdly, for Oh Gyu Won, it is impossible to express the object clearly if one relies only upon metaphoric thought. For this belief, he attempts to acquire transparency of the object through metonymy. This is because metonymy enables the poet to express the objects that exist vividly. Fourthly, Oh Gyu Won’s poems express the phenomenon of being through living images. It is the attitude to see being in terms of its horizontal correlation without regard to difference or distinction. With this attitude, the poet sees the liveliness of the objects from the non-anthropocentric point of view. Therefore, hispoems are the records of pure images which are living.
