This paper attemps to examine patterns of women's leisure activities and for this purpose, it examines leisure related programs offered by various organizations.
The paper also surveyed actual users of these programs to find out their perception and evaluation of the programs. The result shows that different organizations offer similar leisure activity opportunities lacking diversity of contents. Women who answered the survey have strong needs for meaningful activities to spend their leisure time and they are largely satisfied with the programs offered by the organizations. Based on the analysis on the analysis of the programs and user evaluation, this paper make some suggestions for policy making for women's leisure activities. First, the women's need for various cultural opportunites should be carefully scrutinized so that it can satisfy women of various background, especially women withe lower socioeconomic status. Second, leisure programs should increase diversity addressing women's different interest and needs. Third, the concept of leisure or culture should be redefined paying more attention to the value of the ordinary. Women's everyday life and seemingly trivial activities and interest should be respected as part of meaningful activities that can contribute to the self-realization of women.
