This study investigates some issues and seeks out positive countermeasures in the field of textile industry of SMEs in Daegu and Kyungbuk area. There are a variety of problems affecting the textile industry; small scale business management, weak product competitiveness, weak financial chronic structure, low manufacturing techniques and equipment underdevelopment, lack of countermeasures for the information age, lack of special marketing strategy and labour, production system problem, etc. To solve these hardships affecting SMEs of the textile industry in Daegu and Kyunbuk area, firms and government should focus on the development of the high value-added products, business rationalization, purchasing extensions for products, improvement of the financial support and marketing systems, initiate a flexible production system, support technological development, develop a government support system for the transition of information, prepare for new world trade system, assist in quality control, standard distribution and PR strategy, and adapt firms to new law and regulations. It is necessary to build a small but well-built firms.
