The separation of medicine and pharmacy, and strikes of medical doctors made us review the overall Korean health care system. I summarised the Korean health care system in three problems. l) low premium-low bebefits-low health care price policy 2) overuse of medicines and care. 3) whether it is necessary to change Korean health care system.
First, low premium-low bebefits-low health care price policy is easily identified, and it is inevitable to change the policy.
Second, in order 'to prevent overuse of medicine, it is necessary to establish the separation and to change payment system.
Third, it is not necessary to change the Korean health care system to US private insurance system or UK national health service system. It is desirable to modify it under the current system.
