This article discusses the relation between the self and the meaning. The self has semantic relations with various objects, and is established by these relations: it has no meaning independently of the objects. The meaning arises from the gestalt of situation., which is constructed through time-spatial "supplementation". The gestalt of the situation is consisted of a "figured" manifestation and "grounded" latent manifestations. In the meaning system from which the gestalt arises, latent manifestaions constitute the nodes of a network structure. The gestalt of the "I/me" exists in that of the situation, and the both are interdependent. In the state of private self-awareness, the "I/me" becomes the gestalt of the integrated "I/me", which transcends situations. The integrated "I/me" is equivalent to the self-concept, and is formed by the integrated arrangement of the sub-selves. The stability of the integrated "I/me" requires that of the meaning system; the latter in tum requires the formation of the sub-self, "the self as a man", which assigns things universal meanings. Then the stability of both the meaning system and the arrangement of the self-concept leads to the establishment of the ego-identity.
