Consumers decide to purchase the product by evaluating product attributes. In this study, a president was regarded as a product and it was assumed that Korean consumers selected the president by evaluating the attributes of a presidential candidate. The purpose of this study was to compare results according to methods of questioning which are the score of attitude estimated by evaluating attributes, candidate preference, candidate suitability and electability. In addition, this study identified selection factors affecting a presidential election by evaluating candidate attributes. The Preference, the suitability, the electability and the score of attitude estimated by evaluation of attributes were scored on scale questions. The final decision in selecting a president candidate was scored on a multiple choice question. The results were different depending on methods of questioning. An analysis on factors affecting on selection of president showed the suitability and the electability except the preference were affected by more factor in Park Geun-hye than in Moon Jae-in. Therefore, the results of this study suggested that the prediction results of election could be different depending on methods of questioning. Finally, the limitation and implication of this study were discussed.
