This paper focused on how different reaction with the consumer’s consumption values against corporate social contribution. Corporate social contribution based on the philanthropic behavior is distinguished two types-when they sell the products, proportionally donate some part of profit and when they have well build-up social contribution corporate image. Using consumption values, we segmented three groups as per consumers with other-oriented functional consumption value, consumers with other-oriented symbolic consumption value and consumers with individual-oriented consumption value as per factor analysis result. Comparing purchase intension about corporate social contribution between three consumer groups, consumers with other-oriented functional consumption value more higher purchase intension for corporate social contribution then consumers with other-oriented symbolic consumption value or with individual oriented. Also, consumers with other-oriented functional consumption value had more higher purchase intension for corporate social contribution then consumers with other-oriented symbolic consumption value or with individual oriented.
By the way, between consumers with other-oriented symbolic consumption value and consumers with individual oriented slightly different for two different types of social contribution style-proportionally donate or keeping social contribution image. We need a follow-up study about these psychological mechanism.
