This study compared and analyses the governance of the Korea Football Association (KFA) and the Korea Archery Association (KAA). Both organisations received the highest rating (Category A) in the 2025 Sport Organisation Innovation Evaluation; however, they are perceived quite differently by the media and the general public. In order to examine this discrepancy, six experts - comprising scholars, journalists, and sport governance practitioners- evaluated the two associations using the BIBGIS. The BIBGIS has 60 items in total. These items are divided into seven areas: organisational transparency, reporting transparency, stakeholder representation, democratic procedures, control mechanisms, sport integrity, and solidarity. First, KFA was very strong in organisational transparency. But KAA was relatively better in stakeholder representation. Second, both groups got their lowest scores in the solidarity. Third, KFA actually had higher scores than KAA in five of the seven areas. The only exceptions were stakeholder representation and sport integrity. This result is quite different from the usual news or public opinions that are mostly critical of KFA. Based on the result, KAA should put more official documents and governance infomations on its website. For KFA, they need to bring more diverse people into their decision-making bodies. Also, both organisations must cooperate more with civic groups and NGOs to improve their solidarity. To conclude, good governance is not just about having a formal system inside. It also needs active information sharing and communication that really meets what the media and the public expect. This study is expected to contribute to future discussions on sport governance in Korea and to serve as a foundational reference for the development of governance indicators applicable to nationalsport federations and related institutions.
