The purpose of this study was to conduct an in-depth analysis of the structural and operational problems faced by City and Provincial Professional Football Clubs in the Korean Professional Football League (K League) and to propose practical strategies for successful club management by comprehensively reflecting the perspectives of key stakeholders in the professional football industry, including club officials. To this end, in-depth interviews based on a qualitative research methodology were conducted with 12 individuals involved in the operation and development of the clubs, including local government officials, club executives, and K League federation representatives. The research findings confirm that City and Provincial Professional Football Clubs face complex issues such as financial vulnerability, lack of management expertise, and political instrumentalization. Based on these findings, successful operational strategies derived include strengthening financial self-reliance and viability, professionalizing the management structure and personnel, and implementing support and institutional improvements from the Korea Professional Football League.
