Purpose: This study assesses how far single-clip duration limits reach into the historical range of film shot lengths, and whether explicit shot-scale instructions change the framing a text-to-video service returns. Methods: Historical film records and an initial duration experiment set the context. Two controlled experiments conducted on 12 September 2026 generated 32 and 48 clips across twenty scenes, holding scene description and requested duration fixed within comparisons. Results: No monotonic association between requested duration and midpoint framing was detected across 46 retained clips. The controlled experiments showed wider midpoint categories under the wide instruction in all sixteen initial pairs and all twelve scenes in the replication. Conclusion: Within the tested conditions, explicit framing instructions produced consistent directional changes in framing, while requested duration showed no detected monotonic association.
