In an aging society, urban parks are evolving beyond simple green spaces into multifunctional environments that support older adults’ daily activities and social participation. This study proposes a multipurpose leisure space designed to promote ‘Active Aging in Community (AAIC)’ among older adults by utilizing the locational characteristics of urban parks, while offering healthcare, cultural exchange, and income-generating activities as core content, and estimates willingness to pay (WTP) for the proposed space. To this end, a survey was conducted with 600 Seoul residents aged 50 and over, and WTP for the hypothetical scenario was estimated using the contingent valuation method (CVM) with a Tobit model. In addition, the determinants of WTP and heterogeneity across subgroups based on respondents’ use of existing senior welfare facilities and urban parks were examined. The results indicate that the mean WTP is approximately 49,120 KRW per month. In terms of content, healthcare and income-generating programs had a significant positive effect on WTP, with the effect of healthcare being particularly robust. Among the locational attributes of parks, older adults placed higher value on green environments and recreational features. The WTP was higher among respondents with greater income and education and those living with family members. Respondents who actively use existing senior welfare facilities and urban parks exhibited higher WTP. Users of senior facilities did not show a significant preference for park locational attributes; however, they demonstrated a particularly strong preference for cultural exchange programs. Urban park users showed higher WTP for parks that offer recreational opportunities and attract diverse users. These findings suggest that multipurpose leisure spaces in urban parks may contribute to the creation of demand-responsive parks and age-friendly neighborhood environments within an AAIC framework.
