    Hefnawy titled "Role of circular RNAs (CircANXA2 and CircFBXW7) in bladder cancer" [1] and I commend the authors for the interesting study and manuscript.Bladder cancer (BCa) currently remains one of the hottest topics in urology, with numerous gray areas and the need for new diagnostic methods in order to improve the identification of tumors and target possible therapies.In this scenario, in recent years, biomarkers are slowly making room for their use in the diagnosis, definition of treatment and follow-up of these tumors.This new wave of biomarkers, which currently represents a concrete possibility only in some contexts, is certainly a future path that must be followed [2].The study showed that BCa patients have an increased expression of CircANXA2 and a decreased level of CircF-BXW7 compared to the control group, with sensitivities up to 80%.These are promising results, in line with some biomarkers already in the market such as Xpert Bladder, AdxBladder, Bladder EpiCheck and others [3][4][5].However, currently the biomarkers in the market are far from representing the panacea for all ills.In fact, they all lack, at least partially, some mandatory characteristics that make them ideal: high sensitivity and specificity, easy use and reading, low cost, usefulness in multiple settings and disease stages.Probably, the direction in which we should go in the future is not to try to obtain
