Air pollution in industrial zones is a pressing issue in various localities. Hoa Khanh Industrial Zone, the largest in Da Nang City, Vietnam, with its diverse range of manufacturing activities, significantly affects the surrounding air quality. This study aims to understand the exhaust gas treatment systems of five factories in the zone and proposes solutions to improve their effectiveness in treating exhaust gases before release, thereby contributing to better air quality in Hoa Khanh. The recommended improvements for each factory are as follows: (1) Paper manufacturing factory: Upgrade to a larger dust treatment cyclone (1.2m x 4.8m) to improve dust control. (2) Cement manufacturing factory: Install a misting system around the plant to minimize airborne dust in the surrounding environment. (3) Stainless steel utensil manufacturing factory: Increase the chimney height to enhance exhaust gas dispersion. (4) Industrial equipment manufacturing factory: Implement measures to collect exhaust gases generated in production areas. (5) Toy and light bulb manufacturing factory: Replace the current water dust suppression tank with a dust collector (gas washing) system that includes a water bubble-containing disk to increase processing efficiency.
