이 연구의 목적은 원격 연수의 활성화를 위해서 초등학교 교사들의 원
격 연수에 대한 인식과 요구를 조사하여, 교사의 배경 요인에 따라 차이
가 있는가를 분석하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 경상남도 지역의 40개 초
등학교에 근무하는 교사 499명을 대상으로 원격 연수의 인식과 요구에 대
한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료를 바탕으로, 교사의 배경 요인에
따른 집단 간 인식차이를 조사하였고, 교사의 배경요인별 선호의 차이를
분석하기 위하여 순위 분석을 실시하였다. 이에 따른 결과는 다음과 같이
요약할 수 있다.
첫째, 원격 연수에 대한 인식 비교에서는 교직경력이 많은 여교사가 원
격 연수에 대하여 긍정적으로 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 연수이수시간이
많고 최종학력이 높은 교사도 원격 연수에 대하여 긍정적으로 인식하는 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 선호하는 연수 분야에서는 여교사가 남교사보다 생활지도와 학급
경영을 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 중경력인 교사는 학습지도를 선호하는
반면에, 나머지 교사는 생활지도를 선호하는 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 연수 선택 요인으로 여교사가 남교사보다 연수 강사진과 연수 내
용을 중요하게 생각하는 것으로 나타났다. 교사의 경력이 적을수록 연수
비용과 연수 시간을 중요하게 생각하는 것으로 나타났다.
넷째, 원격 연수의 성공 요인으로 여교사가 남교사보다 연수과정의 다
양함을 중요하게 생각한 것으로 나타났다. 고경력 교사가 교사의 전문성
신장을 중요하게 생각한 반면에, 중경력 교사는 원격 연수의 효율성을 중
요하게 생각한 것으로 나타났다.
이상의 분석결과를 종합해 볼 때, 교사의 배경요인과 원격 연수에 대한
인식과 요구는 밀접하게 관련되어 있음을 알 수 있다.
연구의 결과는 현재 운영되고 있는 원격 연수에 대한 몇 가지 시사점을
제공한다. 먼저 연수 주체기관에서 저경력 교사에게 맞는 연수를 제공할
것을 요구한다. 이를 위해 연수 주체기관에서는 연수의 운영 내용과 방식
을 개선할 필요가 있다. 다음으로 연수 콘텐츠 구성에 교사의 배경 요인
을 반영하는 것을 요구한다. 이에 연수 주체기관에서는 교사의 성별, 교직
경력을 고려한 맞춤식 연수를 제공하는 것이 필요하다. 끝으로 원격 연수
의 효율성과 효과성을 높이기 위하여 원격 연수 접근 환경의 확대를 요구
한다. 이를 위하여 원격 연수에서 스마트폰과 스마트패드를 활용할 수 있는 환경을 확대하여 조성하는 노력이 필요하다
