"The Language Research Institute of Sejong University was founded for theoretical and practical research on various modes of language usage and to provide a forum to discussions on the nature of language. In order to accomplish this goal, the Institute undertakes the following functions: 1. Publication of Journal of Universal language : As we live in the global world, the institute publishes biannually as an international research journal, Journal of Universal Language to develop the communication skills among different language speaking countries and help them to communicate efficiently. Followed by the initial issue of the journal in May 1996, the second issue was published in May 2001. Since then the journal has been published biannually. 2. Holding Seminars : To offer a chance for the exchange of ideas between researchers of various viewpoints, we occasionally hold seminars about language related areas ranging from linguistics, language usuage and translation. 3. Joint Research Programme and Lecture : We promote joint research programme with other academic societies such as The Korean Association of Translation Studies and The Korean Society of East-West Comparative Literature."
