As digital transformation accelerates, there is a growing need for evidence regarding its role in promoting self-care among older adults. This study examined the effect of digital literacy on self-care among community-dwelling older adults (65+) in the Gwangju-Jeonnam region, testing the parallel mediating effects of self-efficacy and social support via structural equation modeling. Among 515 valid responses, the mean scores were as follows: self-care 2.89 (1-4 scale), digital literacy 3.37, self-efficacy 3.61, and social support 3.69 (all on 1-5 scales). Digital literacy significantly predicted self-efficacy (β=.468), social support (β=.369), and self-care (β=.240; all p<.001). Bootstrapping (5,000 resamples) with a phantom-variable confirmed significant partial mediation through both self-efficacy (β=.065, p<.01) and social support (β=.029, p<.01). These findings suggest that digital technology education for older adults should be designed alongside strategies to enhance self-efficacy and expand social support, providing a foundation for healthy aging interventions and policy design.
