Metal halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) offer high specific power through ultrathin absorbers and flexible substrates, making them promising for low Earth orbit (LEO) power systems. This review examines how particle radiation, thermal cycling, vacuum, ultraviolet irradiation, and atomic oxygen affect absorbers, interfaces, electrodes, and protective layers, distinguishing reversible defect recovery from irreversible compositional and structural damage. Three design strategies are discussed: self-healing compositions, gradient buffer layers, and multifunctional encapsulation, separating demonstrated stabilization from proposed architectures. Stratospheric, suborbital, International Space Station, and satellite studies are assessed to distinguish ground tests from flight evidence and absorber survival from device operation, as well as to evaluate module scaling and interconnection. Future work should pair mission-specific environmental testing with device-level electrical measurements and report module-specific power, including protective components, and end-of-life performance.
