When the Framed Tube System is recognized the fact that the webs
frame parallel to the direction of the lateral loads are not solid
webs but in fact, grid frames, one must consider then the effect
of loss of efficiency due to the flexibility of this webs frame
causing the shear lag. This characteristic determind the
effectiveness of Framed Tube System and for an efficient system,
reduction of shear lag effect is essential. By reduction method
of shear lag effect, this paper analyzed the distributions of
axial stress arising from the increase of axial stiffness in the
corner columns.
