This paper shows the interrelation between war and humanities through the literature in the pre/post-6.25war. Because the literature is the main humanities code including Korean history and culture. The study on humanities is to understand on what makes human being a special being like a self-controlled human. Moreover, the study on war is to understand on what makes human history the inequality history. War and humanities symbolize the antinomy paradigm of the human history like the paradigm of the reason's good and evil.
So this paper shows the paradigm shift of humanities and its politics in the pre/post-6.25war through the aesthetic paradigm of the literature.
From the post world war Ⅱ to the 6.25war, Korean literature means a difference in ideology between the Communist and the Traditionalist. Racialism ideology is insisted by both of them each as their own ideology. This signifies the literature for the political ideology's sake during the 1945.8.15-1948.8.15. But KimSooYoung's poetry is formed on the base of the Liberalism by departure from the Racialism ideology argument. So his poetry is composed of the art for art's sake. Accordingly, the paradigm shift of humanities during the 45.8.15-48.8.15 shows the Racialism ideology and the Liberalism.
In the post 6.25war, Korean political ideology has been the anti-communism repressing freedom of other political ideas, which has controlled all over Korean life. For example, literature has been written under the control of the anti-communism, or for the anti-communism's sake. Also the Existentialism was selected as one of the courses to cope with the hopeless circumstance in the post 6.25war. But the Existentialism literature was unfit to the hopeless Korean society. So the main motif of the literature meant society issues on the rural and city. The literature would be called as a complaint literature with protest against the social problems produced by the 6.25war, excluding political ideology. That means the art for art's sake.
The human history repeats itself all over again like a screw taking with the politics of war and humanities. Especially, World war Ⅱ had broken out because of the political ideology clash between the Communism and the Democracy in the modern. War was broken out by a political ideology clash brought about the human history of inequality. That signifies the rule of history growth is based on the rule of inequality produced by the political clash, not the rule of equality. But the aesthetics politics has contributed to check the rule of inequality history which has repressed others as self-controlled individual, nature, culture, good, virtue, justice, anima and the East recovered in this postmodern. So the aesthetics of self-controlled relation would contribute to the self-controlled politics to recover others repressed by the inequality history. The aesthetics and politics of self-controlled relation would open the way to the human for human's sake based on the rule of equality. As the result, this study shows not only the influence of war on humanities but also the influence of humanities on war. (Sungkyunkwan University)
