The main test was implemented on 25th of November 2002. Approximately 1% of students among the entire population of the Grades 6, 9, and 10 were randomly selected. The finally sampled examinees were 18,795 students in total, including 6,850 in Grade 6, 6,125 in Grade 9, and 6,020 in Grade 10. The results were graded in 4 levels, Advanced, proficient, basic, and below-basic. And the final result of full analysis of the NAEA 2002 in Social Studies is as follows:
For the sixth grade Social Studies student achievement, the average was 70.06 with standard deviation 16.49. In terms of the assessment category, students showed their best in the value/attitude category, followed by knowledge.
