The construction economy has fallen gradually in the stage of depression since it has been getting better after
IMF. Accordingly, it is expected that the bids for construction are struggling among the construction companies and
the management conditions of many construction companies are getting worse. Under these conditions, the existing
systems for organization management are needed to be amended in order to adapt elastically to the changes of the
construction environment.
The purpose of this study is to suggest the development directions for the subcontract of construction industry in
the future. The study seeks to find the way of improvement of the construction field management that minimizes
the number of field managers and keeps the management efficiency. It carries out a survey through a
depth-interview with the main and field specialists of 17 construction companies. It was found the current trends
and conditions of the subcontract of construction companies. Based on this the study suggests the step-by-step
strategies for the improvement of the subcontract system including the problems and other necessary things for the
efficient conduction.
