In the record of the Han(韓傳) in the Samkukji(三國志) -Chinese historical documents of three kingdoms, written by Jinsu (陳壽), many bibliographical and text-related mistakes are found: For example, the origin of Jinhan(辰韓) is connected to the Chin Dynasty and Jinhan is described as being the successor of Jinkuk(辰國). The King of Jin of Jinbyeonhan(辰弁韓) must have originally been the king of Jinhan, however, due to a mistake by Jinsu, this item was recorded with the entry being made as the King of Jin.
With regards to the King of Jin during the Samhan(三韓) period, historians have depicted him as a representative of the Mahan society who mediated diplomatic policy and influenced the power of the ruler in the Samhan area. Existing studies have in addition, understood the King of Jin as the leader of the Mahan confederation (馬韓聯盟體), that is the King of the Mahan.
However, the terms the King of Jin and the King of Mahan already indicate that they separate entities. The King of Jin found in the Samkukji and the King of Mahan from the Samkuksaki(三國史記) are totally different individuals, as illustrated by the two different historical documents. Based on this, it is only natural to believe that King of Mahan and the King of Jin existed in a separate time and space.
In short, based on the term King of Jin, it becomes clear that his reign was over the Jin area and that he was not the monarch of the Mahan area, The King of Jin from the record of the Han found in the Samkukjj is understood as being a historical person who controlled the Jin area (the areas surrounding the center and tail end of the Kum River), with its center being the Mokjikuk(目支國). This study points out that the existing recognition and importance attached to the King of Jin has been exaggerated and over interpreted.
