In recent years, the port issue of logistics has experienced a quite evolutional development. However, Korea faces many difficulties to cope with smooth transport of container cargo in ports in terms of the reliable transport chain management. Further The Korean Government made targets to develope Kwang- Yang and Gadeokdo New Container Port as the Hub-Port in North East Asian Rim.
All this factors bring to this study with three objectives, firstly, to contribute for the better understanding about an environmental changes of port logistics and about the relationship between container Hub-Port and Free Port; secondly, to investigate the container traffic flow including transhipment cargo in line with The National Land Development Plan; thirdly, to suggest implications for the Free Port System in the Kwang-Yang New Container Port by the intensive survey on the future user.
This will lead to enhancing the competitiveness of the Kwang-Yang Port as the logistic Center of container in the Paciffic Rim.
